"How do you know your leaders are spiritually mature?" We don't. In fact, I'd rather have someone who is lost, humble enough to admit it, and wise enough to follow their own next steps.
Ever heard the expression, "It's the lost leading the lost." Generally, that's not good. I think it's time to redeem the expression for God's purpose!
In a previous post, I said "the lost" could be defined as those who know Jesus but haven't accepted just how much they are loved and matter to God. As long as "the lost" have identified this is the problem, doesn't that make them a great leader to come beside others who are struggling (or faking it) to be spiritually mature?
If I know that one facet of my journey with Christ is to continue to accept God's grace in my life, knowing it's not a task item that I check off the list on my path of spiritual maturity, then am I spiritually mature?
