We just finished an 8 day period of running fast launching ministry programs in groups at GCC. Through Starting Point (3 separate launches), Turning Point , and Bible Classes , 295 people have taken a next step into community with others! Love that!
To all of our volunteers and facilitators who helped make that happen, way to go! The care you take to let others know they matter is inspiring...it fuels me!
My assistant, Dawn Lovitt, has been running fast answering inquiries, creating welcoming atmospheres for check-in, dealing with technology challenges, and just making all the details happen! Her daughter, Breanna, has been here with a smile and a spirit that is ready and willing to help where needed - a great team!
Whew! It's time for rest...but, that's a problem for me. I might be an adrenaline junkie - I don't know. Once I start sprinting, it's tough to pull the activity level back to a lower gear.
However, I do know the pattern I follow, and I know unplugging is really important! As leaders, we need to rest well. (My incentive for this post is that if I go public, I'll need to take my own advice!)
I'll be unplugging this weekend. In a place of rest, I'll plug into the quiet space to connect with God and spend time with Jeff. Balance.
